ASE provides certification for automotive service technicians and mechanics.The Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is a professional certification organization that tests and certifies automotive technicians and collision repair professionals.

Career and Scope of ASE

The scope of ASE certification includes eight areas of automotive service: brakes, steering and suspension, electrical/electronic systems, engine performance, engine repair, heating and air conditioning, manual drive train and axles, and automatic transmissions.

Career path for ASE

The career path for ASE certification begins with completing a training program at an automotive service facility. After completing the training program, the individual must pass an ASE certification exam. Once certified, the individual must maintain their certification by completing continuing education courses and retesting every five years.
